Welcome to Tenbury Wells Young Farmers
Daniel Bradley
DANIEL Bradley is no stranger to turning his hand at new things. In 2008, he entered the NSA’s National Young Shepherd of the Year competition for the first time, and was named the winner of the under 21 section and came third overall nationally.
Daniel’s proudest achievement was his participation in driving two quad bikes from John O’Groats to Land’s End and then across to Torquay for the national YFC AGM. His efforts helped raise a massive £12,000 for Diabetes UK and Acorns Children’s Hospice and, when not cycling for charity, is busy representing his club at West Midland area in the national public speaking or acting as stockjudging co-ordinator for his county federation.
Family sheep farm
Daniel also shows livestock for local pedigree breeders and has his own small herd of Blonde D’Aquitaine cattle – attending to them when he isn’t working on his family’s beef and sheep farm in Tenbury Wells, Worcestershire.
Over the last three summers, he has worked at a 525ha (1,300-acre) arable farm in Shropshire where he manages maintenance and undertakes corn carting, cultivation and combining.
Although his aim is to return to the family farm, he wants to develop his sheep knowledge and agricultural understanding by working in New Zealand.
“It can allow me to address issues, adapt ideas and produce solutions to problems at my own level and also stand me in good stead to share them with the agricultural industry, especially with regards to sheep. I want to learn the practical skills and the theory based behind it.”
With two engineering scholarships already under his belt to help pay towards his course, Daniel is a capable fabrication engineer having built his own specialist match plough and does not rule out a career in designing livestock equipment and new machinery.

I have worked with daniel and he has been an excellent student, solving problems and finding answers with little or no help, he should be student of the year.
